One thing that perhaps we don’t think of as often as we should, is what we need to do in order to keep others on the road safe.
A simple job that we can all do is, when we’re clearing snow and ice off the windshield, windows, lights and mirrors of our car in order to drive safely, we should remember to also clear all the snow and ice off the roof and back of our vehicles. It takes a bit more work (and a bit more leaning and standing on tiptoes) to get all the snow off the roof, but better to do it while the car is stationary than have it slump off and speed onto the highway, into the path of the vehicle behind. Likewise, be sure to clean the snow and ice off your car’s hood so that you don’t get an unpleasant surprise on your own windshield somewhere down the road.
It’s dangerous enough out there on snowy and icy roads, so take the extra time to clean all the snow off your car to help make it safer – for both yourself and your fellow drivers.
