Life at PiP Stories

Life at Partners in Performance is fast-paced, challenging and supportive. But don’t just take our word for it – hear what life is like, directly from our team.

My journey in three words - MariaTeresa's story

At Partners in Performance, we pride ourselves on attracting, retaining and developing the very best talent around the world. With that, we recognise the importance of building a workplace that is welcoming, inclusive and promotes a sustainable lifestyle. We’re focused on four key areas to help our people unleash their potential, both in and out of work:

  • Unleashing flexibility

Everyone’s needs are different when it comes to balancing work and personal life. Our goal is to ensure each person is given the resources and flexibility to make that balancing act work for them. In some regions this means offering additional short-term unpaid leave, allowing a total of six or eight weeks of annual leave. Whether it’s taking a ‘career break’ to fulfill personal goals such as travelling the world or having the ability to work from home to spend more time with family, we work with each person to put in place the best solution for their lifestyle.

  • Unleashing family

If expecting a new family member or serving as a primary caregiver, we want to make life as easy as possible. We do this through paid parental leave (up to 16 weeks for Primary Caregiver and 3 weeks for Secondary Caregiver) and offering ways to balance work and family commitments. In some situations, where partners and family members need to be together and there is a requirement to travel on engagement, we work with them on a case-by-case basis to find a solution that works.

  • Unleashing diversity

Diversity isn’t just a buzzword - it’s vital to our culture, policies and systems. We recognise that diversity is imperative to a great work environment, and it’s part of what makes our people so interesting to work with. Our ethnic, gender, religious, political or sexual orientations may be different, but it’s these differences that allow us to bring new and unique ideas to the table. Whether it’s working with our senior women to support women in the workplace, or reviewing our hiring practices, we are continuously striving to improve our initiatives in this area.

  • Unleashing inclusiveness

As part of our extensive internal training, we strive to ensure every person is aware of what it means to be inclusive and how unconscious bias can affect those around them. We actively coach our team so they understand the importance of their words and actions being fair and fact-based.

Now hear from our team

Meet MariaTeresa, Associate from our Latin America region. MariaTeresa joined our Peru office in 2018 and has shared the highlights of her time at Partners in Performance, in three words...

Recently I was having a conversation with a friend, who asked me to summarise my career at Partners in Performance in three words. So far, I have worked with clients from a range of industries and even worked across a range of different countries - so it wasn't easy to summarise my experience in just three words! But after giving it some thought, I have picked the following: people, travel and growth.

People
When staffed on a project, we share a lot of moments together - from the day-to-day challenges, to having our breakfasts, lunches and dinners together... you get the idea! Yes, we see each other a lot. We get to know one another, and we form some really strong bonds within our teams. We also rely on each other to deliver results and to support our clients.

Since joining Partners in Performance, I have met some of the most intelligent, yet down-to-earth people. Bright people who have inspired me, people who are willing to mentor me, have the patience to listen to my highs and lows, and people that genuinely care for one another. These are the people that I can now call my best friends.

Travel

For me, one of the most exciting things about working at Partners in Performance is the opportunity to travel. It gets me out of my routine and gives me the opportunity to travel to new places, go on adventures, meet new people, learn about new life experiences, broaden my horizons... the list goes on. To me, this is priceless.

I like to say that I'm in love with places I've never been to... yet! Below are some of the places I've been in the past year and a half (many of which are thanks to my work at Partners in Performance).

Growth

Partners in Performance has definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone. I have grown both personally and professionally in ways I didn’t think were possible. The exposure and impact I have had on both the front line and senior managers this early on in my career, has taught me countless lessons that now I live by. I have learned (and am still learning!) not only how to solve problems, but also to do so across various industries and countries.

Nine engagements and six countries in one short year, and here I am still feeling that first day excitement. I wonder where my next adventure with Partners in Performance will take me?
